A piligrimage to the Holy relics in Sozopol

A handful Orthodox Christians always takes part in every Sunday service in the monastery of St. Constantine and Helena. During the high season many tourists come to the services, too. But that handful is the kernel. People know each other. We share happiness and sorrows. We help each other. Everyone according to his powers helps the monastery, too.
On one of the first autumn Saturdays, quite cold and rainy, we gathered in the church early in the morning, held a public prayer, and strengthened by it, went off southwards. To the "Town of Salvation" as the billboard said welcoming us to the ex-episcopal center. (The name Sozopol means "A town of Salvation"). There, in St George’s church small pieces of St John the Baptist and St Andrew’s relics are exhibited. Next to them is a small piece of the Holy Cross of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
No long queues after the tourist summer season. No TV cameras, no bustle. It was time for a prayer, time for unity and talk to God, to His pious men to who we were coming to pay our respect and ask for their protection. We prayed, walked around the desolate resort town, thanked God and went off northwards.
On our way back to Varna we dropped in at Pomorie monastery of St Great martyr George. Monk Sergii told us the history of monastery. We thanked God again and after a payer to St Great martyr George for his protection went back home.
It was a usual autumn day on which we were together again as we are every Sunday, together in the prayer, too, together with God!
