The Holy Spring

The Holy spring (agiazmo) is situated in the altar behind the Communion table. People have many things in their life for nothing. These are things given by Our Lord and people haven’t taken pains over them. People were given many things by God for their own good. These are the earth and sky, the air and sun, water ...

The word agiazmo has an Arabic origin and means holy spring, holy water; a holy spring that God has given to us. Holy water that God has consecrated for people’s salvation, to strengthen our faith, to cure us from our bodily and mental infirmities.

The monastery church was constructed on the spot of the holy spring and it is unique nowadays, there is no information about such a church in Europe; a church with a holy spring under the very Communion table, the place where the Holy Liturgy, the Sacrament of All Sacraments is celebrated. Believe, and saved you will be! Let it be to you according to your faith - says Our Lord in the Gospel.

The church wouldn’t be unique if people seeking the Road to Salvation didn’t have pure faith according to which miracles happen.

Today as it was in the past the citizens of Varna and guests of the holy cloister can take holy water. Many people coming here with faith and prayer to God and, supported by the intercession of St Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helena, have received relief of their pains. The recorded cases about people with eye problems who have received relief and curing have already been several in the recent year.

In the summer of 2007 a 4-year-old child from St Petersburgh, Russia, after a 7-day stay at the resort, according to his parents and grandmother’s faith and prayers, was cured from an eczema after the Holy Liturgy. The child has had the eczema almost since his birth.

Great are Thou Lord and lovely are Thine deeds and we do not have enough words to glorify Thine wonders!
    Amen!
