The Monastery Celebrated its Feast
On 21st May the Orthodox Church commemorates Saints Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helena. The monastery that the resort near Varna was named after, celebrated its feast. His Eminence, Varna and Velikopreslav Bishop Dr Cyril served a Holy Divine Liturgy together with the monastery Father Superior, iconom Stoyan Mahleliev, the Father Superior of the Bachkovo monastery, Bishop Boris and a lot of priests – guests.
Ipodeacon was Prof. Johan Kramer, a lecturer in Catechism at the Institute of Theology and Phylosophy in Sankt Polen, Austria, an ex-ipodeacon of Bishop Ilarion Alfeev, Vienna, Austria and Hungary Bishop up to the beginning of the current year. Thousands of citizens of Varna came to pray for themselves and their relatives, living and departed, to ask for the protection of Saints Constantine and Helena, a son and a mother who gave the initial impetus to the development of Christianity in the 4 AD.
Mr. Panko Anchev from Varna Municipality participated in the Holy Liturgy. Special guests were the representatives of two German Foundations: St. Francisc from Heiligenbron and Liebenau from the province of Baden Wurttemberg which realize various social projects together with Varna and Aksakovo Municipalities.
After the Holy Liturgy water was consecrated and the traditional procession led by Bishop Cyril, the clergy and the church icon set off for the place where the feast monastery dinner was consecrated and given out. All day the stream of believers coming to ask for the prayers and protection of Saints Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helena didn’t stop. Everyone was sprinkled with holy water from the monastery holy spring, a unique divine miracle, situated under the very Holy Communion Table in the altar, and was anointed for blessing.
