Feast of the Eparchial monastery of St Constantine and Helena
The feast of the Eparchial Monastery of St Constantine and Helena has turned into a gathering of the believers in our Savior Jesus Christ! Veneration to St Emperor Constantine and his mother St Helena called a great number of believers to come and pray at the Holy Liturgy.
Many priests from Varna and Veliki Preslav Eparchy came to participate in the Thanksgiving Holy Liturgy. It was hard for the small monastery yard to hold those who wished to take part in the service. Many people prayed outside listening to the glorifying hymns on the loudspeakers, a touching sight for every believing heart!
After the Holy Liturgy, it was indeed a joint deed of the clergy and people as is the meaning of the word liturgy in Greek, water and bread were consecrated for health and prosperity in the monastery yard.
After that the festive procession with the icon of St Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helena and gonfalons set off for the place where the feast monastery dinner, a donation from the resort hoteliers, was consecrated. (This year the dinner was fish because of Friday).
The meaning of this offering is not to forget about brothers and sisters, to thank God for all trials and happiness, to share what is “ours” because it as well as we belong to God.
Monastery Brethren met the stream of guests all day long which although the blessed rain that fell, did not stop. The priests sprinkled with holy water from the monastery agiazmo and anointed and blessed everybody who came to pray. As a traditionmany on that day many people became members of the ONE HOLY EUCUMENICAL AND APOSTLE CHURCH taking the Sacrament of the Holy Baptism.
On the occasion of the holiday season opening St. Constantine and Helena Holding organized all day festive folk programme for the resort guests.
We prayed Allgiving God for success and rendered the blessing of His Eminence Varna and Veliki Preslav Bishop D-r Cyril who was abroad. The tour operators were invited to come and hold a Thanksgiving service after the end of the tourism season.
It was foreign tourists who were especially impressed by the programme and traditions here.
Our Lord, Jesus Christ, by the prayers of St Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helena, be mercy to us!
